September Wine Recommendations
Best of the Blush

The first days of fall are my favorite time to savor a good blush wine . Below are our top five wine recommendations for September "Best of the Blush".

1. First Crush: Breitenbach Wine Cellar in Dover, Ohio. A long-time favorite. Sweet, but yet slightly tart.

2. Catawba: Simmons Winery in Columbus, Indiana. One of the best Catawba's you'll find. Great sipping wine.

3. Sweet Revenge: Winery at Wolf Creek in Norton, Ohio. A wonderfully refreshing semi-sweet blush.

4. Scarlet Sunrise: White Rock Vineyards and Winery in Goodview, Virginia. A blend of Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay and Merlot, this wine is so refreshing and perfect for sipping outdoors on the deck.

5. Rose of Cabernet: Horseshoe Bend Vineyards in Willisburg, Kentucky . This delightful wine certainly caught my fancy. Made from Cabernet Franc...you get the taste of a red wine, yet it finished like a white.

These wines that were previously on the list have fallen from our top-five favorites as we have visited more wineries....but they are still clear winners:

Maggie Adams Blush: Acres of Land Winery in Richmond, Kentucky . The apricot accents in this wine make it truly unique.

River Blush: Debonne Vineyards in Madison, Ohio. Semi-sweet, fruity and flavorful. Similar to a Zinfandel.
