The
Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of Southwest Ohio will hold its 5th
Annual Wine Tasting and Silent Auction Saturday, August 27, 2011,
from 7:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. at the Newport Aquarium in Newport,
Kentucky. Sip wine and enjoy wonderful appetizers from Funky's
Catering including a Risotto Station while you take in the exotic
undersea adventure the Aquarium has to offer. Be one of the first to
see the NEW Penguin exhibit! Join the penguin party and purchase
tickets to your very own Penguin Encounter, pet a shark and more! A
cash bar will also be available, in addition to decadent desserts
and samplings of cheese. Take a chance with the Silent Auction and
bid for great items such as fine-dining gift certificates, theater
tickets, trips, spa packages, hotel packages, gift baskets, sports
memorabilia, Reds tickets, UC and UK tickets, photography, wine,
jewelry, golf, a Fuji bike and much more! "Next
to wine, bike riding is the best way to ease the stress of dealing
with Crohn's," said Karen Bliss, Fuji's Marketing Director.

are $65 per person, or $560 for a reserved table of eight, or $280

Ticket prices will increase $10 per ticket after August 19,
2011. The Wine Tasting,
formerly called Wines & Chimes,
will benefit the CCFA Foundation which is the primary
funding source for medical
research, patient education and awareness, patient support and
legislative advocacy for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.
CCFA-funded research has
helped lead to
the recent groundbreaking discoveries of genes and gene receptors
associated with the diseases, yielding
significant improvements in treatment options and deeper knowledge
that can support future prevention.
Crohn's
disease and ulcerative colitis affect an estimated. 1.4 million
Americans. CCFA
Southwest Ohio serves an estimated 58,000 Southwest Ohio patients
who have these inflammatory bowel diseases.

Model Airplanes at Debonne Vineyards. Enjoy a relaxing
afternoon at the winery, sipping wine and watching those M.A.R.C's
Model Airplane Club flying aces buzz the vineyards with their unique
model airplanes. 1-5 p.m. This event is free.
August 28
Summer Jazz on the Vine Series at Debonne Vineyards. Join us
for this unique festival featuring Great Music, Great Wine &
Beer, & Great Food. Winery opens at 1 p.m. Concert: 2-6 p.m.,
featured band: FORECAST. Free Admission. Rain or Shine. Enjoy
delicious appetizers and a selection of sandwiches all afternoon
provided by The Grill, serving 1-5:30 p.m. No reservations
necessary. YOU ARE NOT PERMITTED TO BRING IN ANY COOLERS OR FOOD,
PLEASE! We are not a picnic ground. If you bring in your own food
and beverages (no sodas or bottled water either) you will be
escorted off the property by security. 100% of a $4 parking donation
will go to help our neighbor the Greater Western Reserve Boy Scouts
of America. The Debevc family firmly believes in this organization
and has made it their primary recipient of charitable
donations.

Clam and Chicken or Steak Bakes at Debonne Vineyards. Make
your reservations for our annual Clam and Chicken or Steak Bakes.
This year we have a new caterer, Chester's Legacy Tavern, offering
the following dinner choices: 1/2 chicken, one dozen clams, sweet
potato, corn on the cob, broth and a cup of chowder, for $25.95 per
person, or 10 oz. strip steak, one dozen clams, sweet potato, corn
on the cob, broth and a cup of chowder, for $27.95 per person. You
can order an extra dozen clams for $9. Dinner will be served 6 -
7:30 p.m. RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED 5 DAYS IN ADVANCE. Stay the

Kites on the Lawn at Debonne Vineyards. The Ohio Society for
the Elevation of Kites will be joining us all afternoon to showcase
some of their highly sophisticated kites. We are excited to welcome
this very active kite club from the Cleveland area. 1-5 p.m. weather

Ponte Vino Giro - Covered Bridge & Wine Bicycle Tour. From
morning rainbows to evenings by the fire, join us for a weekend of
riding, dining, and the scenery of Ohio's Wine country. PVG 2011 is

evening of fine wines and delicious cuisine. The evening begins at
Grand River Cellars with soup and salad, then go to Debonne
Vineyards for the main entree, and finish at South River Vineyard
with dessert. Vegetarian option available. MENU: Grand River Cellars
- Wedge of Brie topped with a fall fruit chutney and Greek salad
made with romaine lettuce, red onions, tomatoes, Kalamata olives and
Feta cheese, drizzled with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Debonne
Vineyards - Marinated and grilled chicken breast topped with warm
peaches and fresh sage served with wild grain rice, fresh roll and
green beans Almandine. Dessert at South River Vineyard. Wines will

Hallowine Party at Debonne Vineyards. Join us for our annual
Hallowine Party. Categories include: scariest; most unique; best
dressed man; best dressed woman, best dressed group (at least 4
members). Judging is at 6 p.m. Music will be provided by Little
Noise, 3:30 - 7:30 p.m. There is plenty of seating with our heated
pavilion. $75 gift certificate goes to the best overall costume and
a $25 gift certificate to the winner in each category and a $15 gift
certificate to the second place winner in each category.
November 12

the experts do it for you. Join us for an afternoon at Debonne
Vineyards, Ferrante Winery, Grand River Cellars, Laurello Vineyard,
and St. Joseph Vineyard tasting fine wines paired with dishes from
your Thanksgiving dinner. The cost of the event is $5.00 at each
winery and includes wine samples, food pairings, and recipes.
