October Wine Recommendations
Fruit Wines

There's nothing like gathering with friends and sharing a bottle of your favorite fruit wine on a crisp fall day. Below are our top five wine recommendations for October: "Fruit Wines".

1. Michigan Cherry: Cherry Creek Cellars in Albion, Michigan. An excellent cherry wine. The flavor comes alive in your mouth.

2. Cherry Ginseng: Chateau Grand Traverse in Traverse City, Michigan. This delightfully unique wine, made with Wisconsin ginseng root extract, has a tempting taste that you won't be able to get enough of.

3. Elderberry: Plum Run Winery in Beallsville, Pennsylvania. This tasty fruit wine is very pleasing to the palate...not to mention the medicinal value of Elderberry.

4. Pear Port: Horton Vineyards in Gordonsville, Virginia. A very sweet dessert wine with a touch of brandy. Absolutely delicious. But watch out...this wine is 21% alcohol and doesn't taste like it. It goes down a little too smooth..

5. Montmorency Cherry: French Lick Winery in West Baden Springs, Indiana. A tart wine that tastes just like eating a homemade cherry pie.

These wines that were previously on the list have fallen from our top-five favorites as we have visited more wineries....but they are still clear winners:

Red Raspberry: Lone Oak Vineyard Estate in Grass Lake, Michigan. This sweet dessert wine has a lovely taste on its own...but is also excellent with chocolate.

Sirius Pear: Black Star Farms in Suttons Bay, Michigan. You'll never taste anything else like this decadent dessert wine made from 100% Bartlett pears.
