Wine Recommendations Thanksgiving Dinner Wines Pairing wine with turkey can be tricky. Below are our top five wine recommendations for November: "Thanksgiving Dinner Wines". 1. Pinot Noir: Willow Vineyard in Suttons Bay, Michigan. Not too overpowering...this Pinot Noir will be a wonderful compliment your Thanksgiving dinner. 2. White Riesling: Good Harbor Vineyards in Lake Leelanau, Michigan. We find this crisp, sweet Riesling makes a great pairing with turkey. 3. Red Oak Creek: Meranda Nixon Winery in Ripley, Ohio. The wonderful cranberry and raspberry flavors in this semi-dry red make it an interesting accompaniment to your Thanksgiving dinner. 4. Dr. Frank Fleur de Pinot Noir: Dr. Frank Vinifera Wine Cellars in Hammondsport, New York. Pinot Noir is such a versatile wine and pairs well with many different foods. This Pinot is light enough that it won't be too overwhelming with your dinner. 5. Gewurztraminer: Oliver Winery in Bloomington, Indiana. Gewurztraminer is perfect for pairing with turkey. This one will make a great addition to your holiday meal. These wines that were previously on the list have fallen from our top-five favorites as we have visited more wineries....but they are still clear winners: Chardonnay: Forks of Cheat Winery in Morgantown, West Virginia. This unwooded Chardonnay will be wonderful on your Thanksgiving dinner table. Cranberry Riesling: Chateau Grand Traverse in Traverse City, Michigan. A blend of semi-dry Riesling and cranberry juice. A great Thanksgiving dinner wine. |
