May Wine Recommendations
Ice Wine

A very special treat...the exquisite taste of this late-harvest wine is unmatched. Below are our top five wine recommendations for May: Ice Wines.

1. Ice Wine: Valley Vineyards in Morrow, Ohio. The first winery in Ohio to produce Ice Wine - Valley Vineyards Vidal Blanc Ice Wine is simply superb.

2. Ice Wine: South River Vineyard in Geneva, Ohio. A tantalizing Ice Wine made from Concord grapes. Just one sip...and you'll know why we chose this Ohio wine.

3. V' d'Or: Rockbridge Vineyard in Raphine, Virginia. One doesn't normally think of Virginia when searching for ice wine, but this winery is producing one that brought to mind a Canadian Ice Wine when I sampled it. A wonderful combination of Vidal Blanc, Riesling, Vignoles and Traminette. Wonderful!

4. Chardonnay Ice Wine: Castel Grisch Estate Winery in Watkins Glen, New York. An outstanding unique Ice Wine with flavors of honey and pear. One of Gary's favorites.

5. Ice Wine of Vidal Blanc: Mazza Vineyards in North East, Pennsylvania. Smooth as silk, this delightful Ice Wine is sure to please even the most discriminating wine connoisseur.

These wines that were previously on the list have fallen from our top-five favorites as we have visited more wineries....but they are still clear winners:

Sweet Genevieve Ice Wine: Laurello Vineyards in Geneva, Ohio. This Grand River Valley Ice Wine has flavors of apricots, honey and pears. One of the best in the region!

Riesling Ice Wine Style: Farinacci Winery in Austinburg, Ohio. This elegant wine is enchanting...and a great value for the price.
